Importance of Christian Believer Ministry

Through the words of the letter to the Hebrews, God has shown how important He considers the ministry of every Christian believer.  “And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities, not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together (as believers), as is the habit of some people, but admonishing ‑ warning, urging and encouraging‑ one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching”. (Hebrews 10: 24‑25 Amp) Can we presently be satisfied that all members of our Church are giving continuous care to one another?  Watching over one another? Seeking in the Bible to see how we may stimulate and incite one another to good deeds?  Can we honestly say that Christians, who come to our Church, even know one another?

Those associated with "The Work of Service"  organization are working to stir up the desire to love and help one another through the deeds and noble activities of Christian ministry for all.  May we urge readers to more faithfully warn, urge and encourage one another through the tool of Church small groups?

The Scriptural keys seem to be the phrases “attentive, continuous care”  and  “not neglecting to assemble together.”  At these assemblies, which are not to be neglected, Christians can accomplish the other three exhortations in that verse.  The gatherings that allow believers to fulfill Heb 10:24‑25 must probably be in addition to the present‑day Sunday church services.  Many Church leaders have concluded one or two weekly services are not enough to equip the saints for the work of service.   How can believers be helped to achieve the commands found in Hebrews 10?  In some places it is called Bible School, in others Leadership Training.  Whatever it is called, these "other services" must be Bible saturated, interactive, ministry-filled for believers to learn to act like believers.  In the remainder of these pages, the need for and the management of informal, small lay ministry groups will be the focus of our efforts.
