Biblical Beliefs and Mission of "The Work of Service

Biblical Beliefs

The Lord Jesus Christ is God who came to earth as man to die on the cross as a substitute for men, to redeem from the power of sin all those who believe in and follow Him   Jesus rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return to judge the world.

The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity guides us into all truth.  He dwells with, in, and upon those who accept salvation through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is God interacting with man.  The Holy Spirit is manifested in believers by the fruit and the gifts of the Spirit

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the complete revelation of God’s will for mankind.  Scripture is the absolute authority for the Church and believers to govern the affairs of men.

The Church is the eternal and universal Body of Christ consisting of all those who confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that He is their risen Savior. Every believer should belong to, support and minister through and from the authority of a local Church.

Mission of "The  Work of Service."

The Priesthood of the believer is based upon a Christian’s unique relationship to Father God.  As His children, every Christian has immediate access to the Throne of Grace and the ability to manifest the power of the Lord Jesus Christ in ministry.  All Christians are therefore ministers who pray, praise, worship God, evangelize, and perform other types of Biblical ministry. "The Work of Service" encourages recognition of the believer’s priesthood.

Believer Ministry is found in the Bible and is one of the critical ways Jesus intended the Church to operate.  "The Work of Service" endeavors to expand prayer, praise, ministry and evangelism in the lives of every follower of Jesus Christ. Each person is first responsible to prayer, praise, ministry and evangelism in their own family as the Holy Spirit leads them and gives them the ability. Believers are also commanded in the Bible to go out and make disciples.

Gifts were given by Jesus to the Church, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists.  Among other Biblical roles, these gifts are commissioned to prepare the saints for the work of service or ministry. Clergy and laity are all believers and co-ministers, differing only from each other because of their calling and their roles in the Church. "The Work of Service" encourages pastors and other Church leaders in their role of preparing the believers for the work of ministry.  In addition, a unique self study series of courses are provided for discipleship and ministry development.

Small Groups are one of the modern ways for Christians to accomplish the Biblical commands and exhortations made to believers to love, cherish, help, pray for, honor and exhort one another. Christians also evangelize and then make Jesus Christ disciples of new converts. "The Work of Service" supports and promotes the growth of disciples through education and improved small group efficiency and effectiveness.

Management theory, strategies and tactics were originally given to man by God in the Bible.  Management is not the sole possession of industry.  Just the opposite, business and industry and all organizations borrowed God’s management principles and applied them for the benefit of their economic, political and social ventures.  "The Work of Service" is committed to educating Christians to understand God’s management principles were originally given to man in the Bible for the benefit of His people (Israel) and His Church.
